How to get to Merzouga and to our camp
We are in Erg Znaigui, 20 minutes from the centre of Merzouga on the N13 towards Taouz. You do not have to drive: we come and get you, and the last stretch is done by 4x4.
Where the camp actually is
The camp is in Erg Znaigui, beside the Erg Chebbi dunes, 20 minutes from the centre of Merzouga, reached by the N13 road towards Taouz. We are not in the stretch where most camps are grouped together, which is exactly why it is quiet at night.
Tell us where you are and what time, and we come and get you: the last few minutes to the tents are over sand, by 4x4. The transfer both ways is included in your stay, at no extra cost.
Where you are coming from
From Marrakech
Around 10-12 hours by road across the High Atlas. Supratours and CTM run direct buses, usually overnight. Many people split it over two days via Ouarzazate or the Dades valley.

About two hours to Merzouga, and some 20 minutes more to the camp. It is the closest airport, with domestic flights, and a good way to cut the driving.

Bus timetables and routes are set by the companies and change with the season: check them in the month you travel. What we do control is the last stretch to the camp, and that is included.
Is there a train or a flight to Merzouga?
There is no train to Merzouga: the railway does not reach the south-east of Morocco. You drive, take a bus from Marrakech or Fes, or fly to Errachidia, the nearest airport, about 120 km and two hours away. From Marrakech it is roughly 560 km and 10 to 12 hours with stops; from Fes, about 470 km and 8 to 10 hours.
Errachidia has domestic flights from Casablanca (Royal Air Maroc) and Marrakech (Ryanair); there is no flight from Fes. Schedules change with the season, so check them with the airline. If you would rather drive yourself, read Merzouga without a tour.

If you would rather not drive, we arrange a private transfer from the airport to the camp: we wait for you at arrivals and drive you straight here, with no changes along the way.

Message us on WhatsApp beforehand so we are waiting for you. Arriving in the desert at night is not the moment to improvise: we take it from there.
Questions about getting here
Do I need to rent a car to reach the camp?
No. We pick you up wherever you are in Merzouga and do the last stretch, about ten minutes over sand, ourselves by 4x4. It is included in the stay, both ways, and luggage comes with you to the tent.
Which is the quickest way in?
From Errachidia, about two hours away, with an airport served by domestic flights. From Fes it is 8 to 10 hours, and from Marrakech 10 to 12.
Can you get here on public transport?
Yes. Supratours and CTM cover the routes from Marrakech and from Fes. One detail to watch: some CTM services terminate in Rissani, about 35 km short of Merzouga, and that last leg is done by shared grand taxi. Check how far your ticket actually goes.
What if I arrive after dark?
Not a problem, but message us on WhatsApp beforehand so we are waiting for you. The final stretch is over sand and improvising in the dark is not worth it.
Can you meet me at the airport?
Yes. Send us your flight and arrival time and we arrange the private transfer from the airport to the camp, with no changes and no haggling with taxis on landing.
