Sleeping in the desert as a family
The family tent sleeps up to five and has the same fit-out as the rest: private bathroom with hot water, air conditioning and heating. That last part matters more than it sounds with children: in winter the desert night drops sharply.
Children usually enjoy the camp more than any city on the trip: the camel ride, sliding down the dunes on a sandboard, the drums by the fire. If you are thinking of coming over New Year, here is what New Year’s Eve in the desert with children is like.

Questions from families
From what age is it worth it?
From the age they walk confidently and cope with a day on the road. Children ride the camel with an adult and always at a slow pace.
Can children ride the camels?
Yes, accompanied. If you would rather not ride, we drive you to the camp by 4x4 and you still watch the sunset from the dunes.
Do you adapt the food?
Yes. Tell us their ages, any allergies and whether you want something simple for the little ones, and we prepare it.
Is it too hot for children?
That is exactly why we close in July. From October to April temperatures are comfortable; in May, June and September it is best to avoid the middle of the day.
One tent for the whole family
Five places in a single tent, with a sitting area and a private bathroom with a hot shower inside. The children do not have to cross the camp at night to reach a bathroom, and you have them right there.
The price is per tent, per night: €425 for five people, with dinner, breakfast, the sunset camel ride and the 4x4 transfer included. There are children’s menus; tell us their ages when you book.
Air conditioning and heating. In summer the daytime heat is fierce, which is why the camp closes in July.

Is it a good place to bring children?
Yes. The camp is small, just ten tents, and the team is there all night. The camel ride and the sandboarding are usually what they remember. We do children’s menus: tell us their ages when you book.
How much is it per person?
The family tent is €425 a night for five people, so €85 each, with half board, the camel ride and the 4x4 transfer included. It is the configuration with the lowest price per person.
Do we need a car?
No. We pick you up, and the last stretch over sand is done by 4x4, included both ways. If you are flying in, we arrange the private transfer from the airport. Tell us the children’s ages so we can prepare the vehicle.
